**Please keep in mind that the signs I use for the following vocabulary (and are depicted in the videos below) are chosen for several reasons, including: 1)they are the best fit for the concepts I am teaching at the age level of my group of kids, 2) they are easier for infants & toddlers to form & use, 3) they are closest to the sign I have most often seen used in my particular community. They may not always be the most appropriate representation of true ASL.

September "All About Me" Theme
*Click on the word to see a photo &/or video of the sign for the word. Some words will show a photo representation, with video underneath, so you will need to scroll down.
me/I sit-down face
you eat bed
family drink sleep
mommy more round/circle
daddy all-done blue
baby move open
home walk shut (see 2nd video)
bath sing/music on
wash hands... dance off
(I use this with the babies)
**Signs for body parts are done by simply pointing.
I found a Baby Einstein video series on YouTube that teaches sign language to parents and children together. Its a good place to go for some examples of basic signs, demonstrated by various signers, with very simple puppets and "action" for young watchers. I don't typically agree with videos aimed at entertaining infants and toddlers, but I could see this being helpful to have parent and child watch and learn together, as long as viewing is very limited.
See the video HERE.
**If you are new to sign language, and would like to know just a few basic signs that are great to start with, this article shows 8 basic signs to use with your baby. Video examples of each sign are included. CLICK HERE.
